Founded by outstanding musicians / producers Sheldon Steiger and James Walsh along with a group of investors, Major Who is dedicated to developing an independent roster of artists backed by the marketing, promotion, and production resources that major-label artists enjoy.
Producer and Artist Manager James Walsh is a principal owner and executive officer of Major Who Media. He has over 25 years of experience as a business owner, music producer, artist/ project manager, and performing musician. Prior to co-founding Major Who, Mr. Walsh founded and hand built Threshold Recording Studios NYC, a multi‐room recording, rehearsal and office facility which has operated and expanded its footprint in Times Square, NYC for over seventeen years.
Currently, Mr. Walsh operates Threshold Recording Studios NYC where he continues to produce music and develop artists on a daily basis with his team of award winning producers.
Mr. Walsh's formal operations and production services are engaged by some of the most significant names in music including: S‐Curve Records, Disney, ABC, CBS, Universal, Captiol Records, Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, Sony, The NY Times, and many more. On the indie front, Walsh has literally overseen the production and recording of thousands of musicians and hundreds of recordings over the years ranging in diversity from The Strokes to Dennis Leary and The Enablers. Acting as a magnet for independent artists and established music endeavors alike, Walsh's unique brand of artist development and community organization mindset continue to unite the two worlds on a daily basis.
Mr. Walsh is an Executive Board Member of the Road Recovery Foundation‐ a NYC based non‐for‐profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to harnessing the power of the entertainment industry to mentor youth across a wide variety of adversities. Recent advocates and mentors include: Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Ozzy Osbourne, Slash from Guns and Roses, James Hetfeild from Mettalica, Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction, and more. Road Recovery outreach and services have affected the lives of thousands of youth, have reached tens of thousands of participants, including contracted services for Caron Treatment Centers, JBFCS, The Graham ‐Windham Services and more.
Mr. Walsh has a B.A. in Music, Accounting and Psychology from the City University of New York.
Musician, songwriter and producer Sheldon Steiger is a principal owner and executive of Major Who Media. He has a vast amount of experience working with some of the most exciting names in music including Diane Birch, Joss Stone, Joe Jackson, Charlotte Sometimes, David Sanborn, Care Bears On Fire, Bon Jovi, Paul Simon and many others. In the visual and film world Steiger has produced a DVD for Run-DMC, composed original music for the film American Psycho and produced numerous soundtracks for major motion pictures. For two seasons, Mr. Steiger engineered and mixed live music for NBC's Saturday Night Live.
Mr. Steiger has also been prominent in the contemporary classical music scene for many years with diverse clients such as American Composers Orchestra, Randall Woolf, Kathleen Supove, Anna Clyne, Missy Mazzoli, Jennifer Choi, Ransom Wilson, Scott Johnson, Frank London, and Sebastian Currier.
Mr. Steiger is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University and holds degrees in both Piano Performance and Recording Arts and Sciences.
With a strong emphasis on licensing, promotions and sponsorship oportunities, Major Who assists it's artists in finding the necessary resources to grow and get noticed.
